Registration for the 2008 Fox and Turkey will open on August 1st, 2008
Run like a Fox and win a Turkey for Thanksgiving Day. This is a food drive event to benefit the Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry. There is a 4 Mile Predictor Run and a 1 Mile Youth Run. Come on out and join us, and you won't regret it. Happy Thanksgiving.
The Fox and Turkey 4 Mile Predictor is a unique Thanksgiving week tradition. It is a predictor race run on a 4 mile out and back course on the west side of the Fox River beginning at the West Bank Family Fitness Center in Batavia. The object is to match your pre-race predicted time as closely as possible. No clocks or watches are allowed on the runners or on the course.
The winners are the top 25 that come closest to their predicted time, regardless of clock time, age or gender. The prizes for the winners are frozen turkeys that range from 10 to 15 pounds.
In addition to the turkey prizes, there is a kids standard one mile race with awards, and lots of raffle prizes. This makes it fun for the entire family and an excellent way to build an appetite for your Thanksgiving dinner. We traditionally have 300 or more participants of all ages.
This is a food drive event, so we hope that you will bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the food pantry.
Directions: The West Bank Family Fitness Center is on the west side of the Fox River, one block south of Wilson St. in downtown Batavia and just one block east of IL route 31.
